Kathleen Hoffman-Hart


Kathleen is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s Degree from The State University of Albany which was obtained in 1994. Kathleen became a Licensed Massage Therapist through The Center for Natural Wellness in 2002. Kathleen has a certificate in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma.

Kathleen’s experience in the mental health field spans over 20 years with the adult population in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Kathleen has a special interest in PTSD/trauma from childhood experiences, one’s occupation or a single traumatic event such as a car accident. Kathleen knows the importance of the connection between the mind and body in the healing of traumatic issues. As such, the body is often brought into treatment during sessions. She approach’s her clients with compassion, humor, optimism and reverence to both mind and body in helping individuals along their healing journey.

Kathleen volunteers with the SAF (Services to the Arm Forces) team through the Red Cross which facilitates reconnection groups for veterans.

Kathleen has been recruited by the HEADSTRONG PROJECT, a non-profit agency based out of Weill-Cornell Medical Center to provide services to post-911 military men and woman who have experienced a traumatic event(s) while in the military. The cornerstone of treatment is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). There is no cost for the service member to obtain treatment.
